Last year, I had the pleasure of working with one of our Foundation Scholars who was intent on pursuing an undergraduate business degree. He had already made incredible progress on developing a personal finance curriculum for underserved students in the Dominican Republic, and hoped to use his college education to focus on social impact and helping to grow developing economies.
His contributions to this effort in the Dominican Republic were simply incredible, especially for a high school student. Our team helped him strategically craft his application and essays to best showcase this work and explain how he would continue to build on it in his undergraduate years and beyond.

Colleges were clearly impressed by his initiative, heart for service, and his stellar academic credentials, and he ended up with several offers of admission from top schools. He ultimately chose the University of Virginia, where he was selected as a Jefferson Scholar and awarded a full-tuition scholarship. Students like him give me hope for the future and are the reason I love this work!

Over the past college admissions cycle, I had the privilege of working closely with one of our Foundation Scholars—a remarkable young man preparing for a career in medicine with the goal of one day contributing to advancing our understanding of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis and other neurodegenerative disorders.
Getting to know him throughout the process was truly inspiring, and served as a powerful reminder of why I chose this profession. The student's determination and strong academic credentials, combined with our team’s mentorship and support, ultimately led him to secure a full-ride scholarship at Emory University, where he’ll continue to pursue his dream of becoming a neurologist and improving patients' lives through research and care.​

Amid a particularly rough patch in my college application process, AtomicMind stepped in as a great source of comfort.
